This website is operated by Dilshaad Williams (the "responsible party" under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013, "POPIA"). Dilshaad Williams also acts as the Information Officer for this website.

We collect only what is needed to respond to you and to run the website well:

• Contact form: your name, email address, telephone number (optional), the service you are interested in, and your message.
• Direct contact: whatever you choose to share when you email, call or message us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp messages are also subject to Meta’s own privacy terms.
• Website analytics: aggregated, anonymised usage data (pages viewed, approximate country, device type and performance timings). Our analytics do not use cookies and do not identify you personally.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18, and this website is not directed at them.

• To respond to your enquiry and, where you ask us to, to arrange an introductory conversation.
• To scope, deliver and support the digital services you have requested, including the records needed to run those projects.
• To understand how the website is used so we can keep it fast, accurate and useful.
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

We rely on your consent (when you submit a form or contact us), the steps needed to enter into or perform an agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating this website, and our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the website and respond to you, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Vercel (website hosting, content delivery and anonymised analytics).
• Resend (delivery of contact-form emails to us).
• Microsoft (email and Teams meetings).
• Where you become a client, the platforms needed to deliver your project (for example hosting, advertising, analytics or email tools), as agreed with you at the time.

Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we make sure the recipient is bound by law or contract to a standard of protection substantially similar to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires.

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up and then deleted. Records relating to client projects are kept for as long as needed to deliver and support the work and to meet legal and accounting obligations, typically five years after the engagement ends. Anonymised analytics are retained in aggregate form only.

The website is served over HTTPS. Contact-form submissions are validated, rate-limited and sent directly to our mailbox rather than stored on the website. Access to email and client records is restricted to authorised people and protected by authentication.

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Object to direct marketing. We do not send marketing communications without your consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dilshaadwilliams.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any event within the period POPIA allows.

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary technical cookies to deliver the site securely. Our analytics work without cookies and without storing identifiers on your device.
